OMHA/CKL Vaccination Policy Update
Following announcements by the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) and Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA), the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) requires all Vaccine-Eligible players, game officials, OMHA officials, instructors, association officials, team officials and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by October 31, 2021. Presently, this policy does not include players born in 2010 or later.

Dear Membership,

I am writing to you today to try and clarify some recent developments in our return to play policies as outlined by the OMHA and the City of Kawartha Lakes.

All members affected by this policy will need to provide proof to the Manvers Executive designate who will record proof of vaccination. Please note, Manvers Minor Hockey will not be required to keep any medical records or vaccination receipts on file. The Executive designate will simply be required to confirm that proof has been provided and record and maintain on file a list of all members who have provided such proof.

If a member feels that they should be entitled to an accommodation under this policy, they will be required to directly file their accommodation with the OMHA. More information will be forthcoming.

On September 3rd, The City of Kawartha Lakes updated their Ice User Protocols to align with the Government of Ontario’s Vaccination Policy. As of September 22nd, all Vaccine-Eligible Ontarians will need to be fully vaccinated, and provide proof of vaccination along with photo ID, to access certain public settings and facilities. These settings and facilities include arenas in the City of Kawartha Lakes. Details of the City’s Ice User Protocols can be found in this attached article.

As a member of the OMHA and a user group in the City of Kawartha Lakes, Manvers Minor Hockey is required to adhere to the rules and policies set forth by these two entities. Essentially, we don’t make the rules, but we do need to follow them.

If after reading through the attached articles, you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the Manvers Executive. We will try to keep you informed as these policies continue to develop.
